A conversation with Brady

ME: hello baby

Me: Is it so hard being such a cute baby?

Brady: Mom, I'm a man

Me: kissing him all over

Brady: Mom, enough with the sugars, I am a man. Men can't have their moms stealing all their sugars

Me: oh my sweet baby

Brady: You put all that good smelling stuff on me so I have to spit up and poop all over myself so I can smell like a man

Me: ok, lets get you all changed up sweet baby

Brady: Moooom, I am a man. I will do what I want, when I want. Now if you will kindly wipe my bottom.

There were two in the bed and the little one said...

ROLL OVER! That is right Brady rolled over this weekend while we were up at the farm. He does it all the time now, but sometimes he gets his arm stuck underneath him and he doesn't like that at all. He also tends to rub is face all into the ground and doesn't like that either, yet he continues to try and roll over anytime he is on the floor.

We went to the farm this weekend and we brought rain with us. You would think that rain is good for farmers, but it is not good when they are trying to get their crop out. We did get to spend some time with the whole family though since they were rained out. Brady has become quite the mommas boy. And although I should be flattered that my child is attached to me, it is not nice when he will not let his grandparents hold him without throwing a fit. It is just poor manners. So, I do not know how, but we will be working on our manners this week. We have a party to go to in a couple of weeks and he is going to have to act better than he did this weekend, i mean, there are a lot of people that want to see him and hold him and it will be no fun if he is so grumpy about it. Overall we did have a great time hanging out with Grandma and Papaw as usual. I hope the weather cooperates for them this week.

Take your child to work day

I am fortunate enough to have a job that I can occasionally take Brady with me to work. The past couple of days have been those kind of days. My cubicle looked like babiesrus threw up in it will all the baby paraphernalia including: diaper bag, boppy, bumbo, sling, bouncer and various blankets. Who new something so small would need so much. For the record he does not need all these things, I do, to make sure he is happy throughout the day. At home we don't even use all this stuff during the day, but in a office full of people who are trying to work, the happier (and quieter) the baby, the better. Also, all the ladies at work love to hold him too, so do not worry, he is still getting plenty of attention. Heaven forbid he not be entertained and happy! So this is what Brady on the job looks like

He is a regular ol' workin' man. He sat up beside me next to the computer and helped me write reports. He really was such a good boy the whole time. This afternoon he went to our friend Aunt Jessica's and tried to wear her out. He sometimes gets a little fussier in the afternoons so I think he showed her how good his lungs are for a little bit. Sorry Jess, I know you did great with him.

Harvest has begun so we will be up at the farm this weekend possibly. We are going to have to find a way to put a car seat in the combine...I think it will be good bonding for Daniel and Brady, we will see if they agree with me. Until harvest is done I am officially a harvest widow and Brady and I are on our own. We have had so much help this past month while I have been finishing up work. Aunt Lindsey was a real trooper and when she couldn't be here Mom mom filled in. I do not know how single mom's do this job, and twins would be a nightmare (no offense Katie)! Hope all is well. I am off to hold the baby now.

He's a big ol' boy

Well the Dr confirmed our thoughts, Brady is advanced. And when I mean advanced, I mean big and tall. He is in the 95th % for both height and weight. 14lbs 14 oz and 25in long. He is in 6 months clothes and only 2 months old. I am already considering getting a second job so we can save up extra money to feed him when he gets older! j/k Dr said everything looks good, good tone and head control and all that business. He also said there appears to be no problems with feeding or going back and forth from me to a bottle...obviously. He also got shots, yuck. I think Brady took it better than Daniel did. I had to hold the baby while he was getting shots. Daniel told the nurse he was a pansy...he said it, not me, and who am I to argue? All-in-all it was a success and we are already gearing up for the 4month check up where we will discuss food options, until then I am still the only meal ticket.

Last Sunday I put Brady in his only pretty boy outfit for church, complete with a hat. Daniel was a little weary about it, but he was just so cute. We also decided to place membership and as a surprise to all of us, they took our picture for the directory. Needless to say, Daniel made me take off Brady's hat. He said of all the outfits Brady could have had his picture in, I chose the girliest one he had. I didn't know we were getting our picture made! And even if I did, I still think I would have chosen that outfit, he was just so sweet in it.

Moving on. So summer is almost here. I have a couple weeks left of work, but no more kids to see. We are going out to Midland a couple of times. Once for a birthday party and again for my reunion (I think). Besides that we don't have any other plans. Anyone else have anything fun they will get to do over the summer? I am also looking for babysitters so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know.

A classic?

So when did a song that came out when I was in junior high be old enough to play on the classic country radio station? I sometimes listen to a classic country AM station and today it played a Clay Walker song that was big when I was in JH. It made me feel a little old to hear it being considered "classic" country. Also, I just got my ten year HS reunion info in the mail and although it does not make me feel old neccissarily, I am just having a hard time believing it has been 10 years already. I am pretty sure I will attend but I am still up in the air. There are definitely some people that I would like to see but there are others that I am sure I don't even remember...and I only graduated with 100 people. Anyway, all is going well here. Tonight Brady has decided to poop and spit up on everything and everyone atleast twice an hour. His body is being an exit only place right now. That is not so good for those of us holding him and the furniture around us! We go to the Dr on Friday so stay tuned for his stats. I a guessing he is over 14 lbs and over 25 in long. Any other guesses? I hope to post some new pictures soon. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Everybody Loves Brady!

Everybody is the truth. Brady has seen so many people this past week and been held by so many people that I think he is not even sure who is mother is anymore...not really, how could he forget me? So, we started off this weekend by going to a shower for Jenni and baby Crawford. It was so much fun showering them with goodies and painting onesies for Crawford. All who know me know that I am like the anti-craft. I couldn't even write my name on the onesie, much less make some cute saying. After I finished my shirt for Crawford they said "Its ok, it looks like Crawford wrote it." Thanks! Anyway, everyone elses onesies were supercute so he is not lacking in things to wear. Over the weekend Brady met Brittany and Ryan, Matt and Jaime, Jenni and Nathan and Brandon and Heather. He also got to meet up with his good friends Jessica and Chad, and Katie, Donny, and his baby cohort Coleman. It was alot of fun to hang out and catch up with everyone. It has been nearly ten years since we have met each other and I hope we stay together for a lifetime.

People coming to see Brady did not end there. Today alone he has seen his Meme, his Richard (my dad, whose name is Gary...we can't decide on a grandad name), his Grandma, his aunt Amanda, cousins Jacob and Evan, and finally his aunt Lindsey. Needless to say, it has been a busy day!

It has been a lot of fun seeing everyone. This weekend maybe we can just hang out and recover from all the fun we have had this week. We will just see how that plays out. Overall things have been going fine here, nothing too exciting. Brady is getting huge. On the home scale he is tipping 14 lbs, and he is only 8 weeks old. He is fat and happy, at least for the most part. He is still working on sleeping through the night. He can do it, he is just not real consistent. He is in his own room now and that is working out fine. I guess that is all for now, so enjoy the pictures.

Here we go!

You can all thank my sister for us joining the blog world. We shall see if it sticks once she leaves! So for those of you out there who find this, we just had a precious baby boy named Brady in March. He of course is the sweetest, smartest, most beautiful baby boy to ever grace the planet...that is until 3 in the morning when he grows horns and screams to be fed, changed and rocked. He definetly keeps us on our toes and lets us know who rules the kingdom. He really is a good baby and sleeps pretty well most if the time. His daddy is super proud of him and his mother is a pretty big fan herself. So hopefully I can keep you all updated about things going on in our lives through this blog, but don't get your hopes up. I am a terrible writer :) Now, on to some pictures
